We are Eric and Jessica and our pup Roxy.
We have been full-time since May 2021 and haven't looked back.
Don't be afraid to make the leap to freedom. The masses will think you are odd for not conforming to how the majority live.
The friends we've met along the way make it all worth it!
How did you get into bus life?
In early 2019 before we heard the term “skoolie” we decided to buy a bus and turn it into a home. We wanted the financial freedom it would bring.
Where did you find your bus?
Our first bus was purchased in Valdez, AK. The second was purchased at AAA Bus Sales in Phoenix, AZ
Why did you choose this bus?
The rear engine made for a much quieter ride than our first dog nose bus. The under-storage and coach A/C were also deciding factors.
How was the conversion process?
Never-ending! It took two years to get it to the point it is now, with only minor finishing touches in the living area to go. We did a total tear-out and re-seal of the roof and windows.
What is it like to live/travel in the bus?
The freedom is amazing. It's nice to wake up in our home and be in different places.
Not having to maintain a traditional home is also a continuing enjoyment.
The only downside is the cost of diesel fuel and mileage.
What do you like most about living on a bus?
Not having the bills we did in our traditional home and of course the community.
What is something you would like to tell people looking to get into this life?
It is not cheap in the beginning. Most people forget the maintenance costs to keep a large vehicle on the road. We tell people to make sure their rig is mechanically sound before dumping lots of cash in the things that look pretty.
